Heading out....

3...2...1...GO! (Had to throw that in there, its been a month without crossfit and I definitely miss it).  Tomorrow morning Adam, Ashley and I head out to tackle the Colorado Trail.  485 miles from Denver to Durango in about 45 days.  Apparently we are all terrible picture takers so you will have to imagine 45 days worth of pasta, rice, animal crackers and other various snacks covering 1/2 of my parents living room floor.  It would have spread out farther, except our gear was crowding the other side.  Somehow we managed to squeeze it all in three backpacks "evenly*".  Come on Adam is way bigger then me or Ashley so clearly he needs a little more weight.

We did manage to take a picture of the final bags.......

Good luck to Crossfit Jenks at the Crossfit Games next week.  Christina- hopefully all that power camp work has stayed with me over the past month to get me through the trail.

*Note about the definition of "evenly" - Adam gets to carry 57 pounds compared to the girls who are carrying +/- 45 lbs each....

Lake Powell

Houseboats, cliffs, jet skis, wakeboard coaches and great friends.....it doesn't get much better than that.  Our last big hurrah before starting to hike the Colorado Trail was a huge success.  Lake Powell was absolutely beautiful with is massive cliffs and geologic features.  It might have started off a little rocky, literally, as one of the houseboats grounded itself on a rocky ledge as we headed out (who knew water could go from 450 to 2 ft deep instantaneously).  But no harm no foul and a couple hours and a tug boat later we were all beached together on what would be our home for the next week.

The rest of the days went something like this:
5 AM- wake up and go wake boarding
9 AM- run from the wake board boats to Denise's boat for awesome Taquitos
11 AM- Swim, jet ski,  and take the Nautique through caves and canyons
5 PM- start rounding people up for the evening wakeboard session
8 PM- Sit on the boat in awe of Brandon and Billy's amazing riding
9 PM- back to the house boats for the amazing delicacies of one Cody McDowell
2 AM- realize we are supposed to be up in 3 hrs and head to bed

Repeat that for 6 days and you have one awesome and tiring vacation.  It has taken me 2 day to catch up on enough sleep to get this post together.  Thanks to everyone for making this 3rd annual houseboat trip a possibility.

Ever since the guys went to wakeboard camp last year I have been whining about not being able to go.  This trip made up for that and some (James thanks for getting Brandon and Billy on this trip).  Within 10 minutes of riding with Billy and Brandon my wake to wake jumps were twice as high and I was more comfortable on my board then I have ever been.  I've already informed Adam that when we come back he can go get a job and I will go to Florida for a refresher course!!!

More pictures to come, there are a lot to sort out!!!
